Other World Riso is a comics and risograph publishing
project started by Brooke Lord in 2023. Other World
started a self-published comics series about the
underground industrial techno music scene and queer
nightlife in Chicago; and illustrates a universe of end-
ing, beginning, reality, fantasy, sentimentality,
transcendence, and in part is a eulogy for places that no
longer exist. Other World focuses on themes of alienation,
self-discovery, and the liminal space of not-being-able-
to-return and finding a way to move forward.
The future of Other World Riso is in art books, independent publishing and risograph printing, with the intent to publish works by
artists / friends / peers.
